Finally learning music theory

I’m finally giving learning music theory a go. Way back I decided it was not for me because I thought it would take the beauty out of music, but I have changed my mind about that now. I think it has the chance to actually increase one’s appreciation by opening up new ways of experiencing music and complexity.

My initial goal is to understand music enough to be able to understand the key, time signature, and notes played in one of my songs and to transcribe it into musical notation. I’m going to choose Chmod, because it’s relatively simple and it’s one of my favourites. Let’s see how I go.
